Captain Charon

Captain Charon was the ferryman on the River Styx who took the dead bodies to the 'other side' for the price of an obulus which was usually a coin placed on the eyes or under the tongue of the dead.

The model for the sculpture was Captain Denis Andersen.

Size: One and a quarter times life size.
Materials: Red bronze, using the lost-wax method.
